You might wonder why you couldn’t just do this type of program on your own or consult with a dietician and get similar results. Revero’s program is a unique form of nutrition therapy, as we will explain below.
Medically Supervised
Revero’s program is medically supervised, which is critical to your safety, especially if you are on diabetic medications. While ketosis can help you manage this condition, it’s not a path you should travel alone - professional help can prevent or identify problems. Your blood sugar may change quickly on our program, and you’ll need help to adjust accordingly.
We Know How
Revero is leveraging years of experience and the published research available about low-carb diets. We track your biomarkers and make recommendations based on your specific situation. We provide you with a complete healthcare team and all of the resources you need, from articles and videos to a supportive community.
I heard that saturated fats are bad for my heart. How does this work?
There are many recent research papers that show that risk factors such as elevated triglycerides and triglyceride to HDL cholesterol ratios improve quite dramatically on low-carb diets incorporating saturated fats.
What raises triglycerides (which are fats in the blood) is not dietary fat but actually dietary carbohydrates. This is because your body will use carbohydrates first and save the fats for later. After some time doing this, it can’t effectively store more fats, so they are left in the blood, as triglycerides, which are definitely a risk factor for heart disease. Low-carb diets reduce cardiac risk.
What About Dieticians?
You could certainly try this, but you’ll likely find that it’s far more expensive and not as effective. Today’s dieticians charge by the hour or visit, and your monthly cost would be much higher without any of the tools or medical supervision that Revero includes in your monthly flat fee.
In addition, many contemporary dieticians seem to be more interested in promoting plant-based diets than ketogenic ones, and that means that they won’t have the expertise to properly guide you.
How Does Care Work?
Coaches
Instead of depending on monthly or quarterly visits, you’ll have access to your Revero care team every day. Your coach is there for you to text and ask questions, as well as provide guidance on how to implement our healing therapy.
Revero’s health coaches are thoroughly trained on our protocol, have learned a comprehensive curriculum, and have passed an examination before being certified as Revero health coaches.
Questions
When you are new at this, it’s normal to have concerns and questions that need to be addressed. Whether you're unsure if you’re applying your diet protocols correctly, or how to interpret your glucose readings, we’ll have answers for you!
We also provide a comprehensive library of professionally-written articles that are a treasure trove of informational resources, so you can browse and learn or search out a topic you’d like to know more about.
Access to Coaches
Our Revero coaches will always answer your questions in under 24 hours. All you need to do is reach out with your Revero app, which includes a messaging function, and ask your question!
Your coach will also be able to see your biomarkers and offer feedback or encouragement as you travel your path to health. You’ll know that you’re not alone, which helps with accountability and morale.
When it’s time to set your goals, your coach will be able to help you set them and break them down into doable steps. Your coach will be cheering you on, as that’s part of coaching!
Revero Provider
You’ll also have a licensed medical provider during your Revero care. This may be a physician or a nurse practitioner. Their job is to keep track of your biomarkers through the Revero app, so that they can help you adjust medications when needed.
If you don’t take any prescriptions, they’ll be there, helping you build your health so you don't need them.
Your provider will also keep in touch with your coach, so that they’re both on the same page.
Keep your PCP Doctor
Our team won’t be replacing your regular primary care physician, as we don’t offer care services for other types of conditions. So, don’t fire your doctor! We can, however, send updates to your PCP to make sure your care proceeds according to plan.
